DDL OMNI has been actively involved and highly competent in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) since its creation as a unique discipline by Dr. Blanchard in the 1970s. ILS is the disciplined and unified management of the technical logistic disciplines that plan and develop logistics support requirements for military forces, and which ensures system product quality in terms of Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Testability (RAMT).

To create systems that last longer and require less support—thereby achieving a higher return on long-term investments—DDL OMNI considers ILS to be a critical skill set to which our customers must have access.

Originally developed by the military in the planning and execution of supporting combat systems, more recently, ILS is frequently used by non-defense organizations to plan how products they develop will be supported over their life cycle. DDL OMNI has the knowledge and skills to provide ILS support for both military and non-military systems to ensure our customers acquire a system that is affordable, operable, supportable, sustainable, transportable, and environmentally sound.

The ILS management process facilitates specification, design, development, acquisition, test, fielding, and support of systems. DDL OMNI has expertise in all 10 ILS disciplines:

  1. Reliability engineering, maintainability engineering, and maintenance (preventive, predictive and corrective) planning
  2. Supply (spare part) support
  3. Support and test equipment/equipment support
  4. Manpower and personnel
  5. Training and training support
  6. Technical data / publications
  7. Computer resources support
  8. Facilities
  9. Packaging, handling, storage, and transportation (PHS&T)
  10. Design interface
