DDL OMNI Wins Industry Design and Website Creativity Awards

McLean, Virginia, December 1, 2010—DDL OMNI is pleased to announce that it has received honors in two national web creativity and design awards competitions.  The company’s web development team received a 2010 W3 Silver Award honoring creative excellence on the web, and four American Graphic Design awards for outstanding website, logo, and touch screen interface design.

DDL OMNI websiteAnnounced by the W3 Awards on October 13, DDL OMNI won a Silver Award for the DDL OMNI corporate website (http://www.ddlomni.com). The W3 Awards honor outstanding websites, web advertising, web video, and mobile apps created by some of the leading interactive agencies, designers, and creators worldwide. The competition is sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA), an invitation-only body consisting of professionals from acclaimed media, interactive, advertising, and marketing firms.  In determining winners, entries are judged based on a standard of excellence as determined by the IAVA, according to the category entered. Winners in the website category are judged on creativity, usability, navigation, functionality, visual design, and ease of use.

“We were once again amazed by the high standard of excellence represented throughout the entries we received this year.  W3 winners continue to embody what the internet is all about and continue to raise the bar in Web development and design.  We are honored to have reviewed such a diverse and remarkable pool of work this year,” said Linda Day, executive director of the IAVA, in the Awards announcement. “On behalf of the entire Academy, congratulations to this year’s W3 Award entrants and winners as they continue to push the limits of Web Creativity.”

The DDL OMNI corporate website also took honors in this year’s American Graphic Design Awards competition, along with three other communications products designed for DDL OMNI clients, including the “Year of Navy Supply” touch screen interface for the U.S. Naval Supply Systems Command, and website and logo designs for the DARPA Defense Sciences Office. This win marks the eighth time DDL OMNI has been recognized in the annual competition.

Presented by Graphic Design USA and sponsored by NewPage® Corporation, for nearly five decades the American Graphic Design Awards competition has recognized outstanding design work across various media including print and collateral, internet/interactive design, corporate identity/logos, advertising, and more. One of the most selective competitions in the industry, only 15 percent of the more than 8,000 entries were honored this year with an Award Certificate of Excellence. DDL OMNI's winning designs be posted in the Online Winners Gallery at www.gdusa.com and published in the 300-page American Graphic Awards Design Annual, which is distributed in December to graphic industry leaders nationwide.

Since 2001, DDL OMNI has won a total of 42 industry awards for web, print, exhibit, and logo designs.  "It is always gratifying to have the hard work and creativity of our designers recognized in a variety of media formats from logo designs to interactive displays and websites.  I am particularly pleased that our efforts to create visually engaging graphics and designs both for our clients as well as the redesign of our own website were recognized." said Peter Caylor, Vice President, IT Division.
