DDL OMNI Engineering provides high-quality management and
technical support to the Navy, particularly in the area
of submarine combat systems and surface gun systems. The
Acquisition Planning Division (APD), formerly Acquisition
Planning Corporation (APC), has
provided program management, acquisition, engineering and
logistics support to AN/BQQ-5 sonar, CCS Mk 1 and 2, AN/BSY-1,
AN/BSY-2 and Virginia Cl ass SSN combat systems, all submarine
towed arrays and handling systems, the 5” 54 MK 45
Gun System, the MK 38 Machine Gun System, and Extended Range
Guided Munition Programs.
APD understands the latest DoD/DoN/NAVSEA acquisition policy
and guidance, and has a solid understanding of DoDI 5000.1,
DoDI 5000.2, acquisition streamlining, COTS, Total Ownership
Cost, and other initiatives.
APD has extensive experience in supporting FTSCLANT in Submarine
Acoustic and Towed Systems installation, logistics, and fleet
technical assistance, AN/BSY-1 technical assistance, CSRR
support, and AN/BQQ-10 installations. In addition, DDL has
personnel who have been involved in supporting submarine combat
systems and towed array programs since the early 1970’s.
APD has extensive experience in engineering, alteration management,
maintenance, and logistics support of minor caliber gun systems
for surface ships for support to NSWC PHD in implementing
a safety ORDALT to the MK 38 Machine Gun System, including
development of the logistics support products.
